Kristin Prim (born in New York, New York on 24 December 1993) is an American fashion blogger, model, and the ex-editor in chief and founder of Prim Magazine.[1][2] In June 2011 it was announced that Prim will be attending Parsons The New School for Design, majoring in Design and Management. [3] [4]
She founded her eponymous fashion blog, "Kristin Prim" in 2009 at the age of 16.[1] Prim Magazine was founded by Prim in April 2008 at the age of 14, with the financial backing of her parents.[5][6] Although she once ruled as the youngest international print magazine editor worldwide, Prim has now put her publication on hold to pursue the "countless opportunities that have presented themselves to me at this time, all rooted within the fields of modeling, co-designing, television, and/or creative directing." [3][4]
Prim is due to star in upcoming Nike and Diesel campaigns with fellow "It Girl" and friend, Sky Ferreira, although her inclusion in other countless campaigns for the upcoming season has been forecasted.[7] Prim has become the focus of photographs by fashion photographers among the likes of Yvan Rodic of Facehunter, Phil Oh of Street Peeper, Mark "The Cobra Snake" Hunter, and Patrick McMullan, whom she regularly poses for.[8][9] She has also posed for many fashion publications and is viewed as a source of style inspiration and a stylistic muse for many.[6]
In April 2008, Prim was first featured by Teen Vogue after being eyed by editor in chief Amy Astley, and print appearances soon followed. In December 2009 she appeared in French Glamour. Since then, she has been featured in Exit Magazine, ELLE Italia, ELLE Korea, The Daily Mail, The Times, The Guardian, Refinery 29, Fashion TV, The Huffington Post, Time Out New York, Vogue Italia, Guest of a Guest, Fashion Indie, Folha de S. Paulo, Dolly Magazine, international Vogues and ELLEs, etc. for her prominent personal style.[6][4] She was recently named a "Vogueista" by Vogue Italia along with close friend, Tavi Gevinson.[10] In May 2011, Prim modeled in Bulgari's Save the Children campaign alongside Rumi Neely, which supported the fashion house's philanthropic efforts.[11]
Due to her popularity, Prim has become a front row fixture at New York Fashion Week, sitting front row at shows such as VPL, Nicole Miller, Rad Hourani, Cynthia Steffe, Charlotte Ronson, Moncler, Ohne Titel, Custo Barcelona, Betsey Johnson, Bill Blass, The Blonds, and so on.[5][8][4] She is close with designers Nicole Miller, Victoria Bartlett, and Graeme Armour, wearing their garments to shows and various events on numerous occasions.[8][10][12]
Prim Magazine has collaborated with designers among the likes of Jeremy Scott, Vena Cava, A.F. Vandevorst, Rad Hourani, and Ohne Titel.[5][13] Its latest edition, N°11, stars top model Dioni Tabbers on the cover photographed by the London photographer, Masayuki Ichinose.
